A practice case
Shares total 100, but the record is incomplete
Practice case: three participants use 50, 25 and 25 percent. The sum is correct, but the song and version are unclear. Correct arithmetic does not remove that ambiguity.
Complete names, title and date, review roles and keep a copy accessible to the participants. If agreement terms, identifiers or recording rights are uncertain, flag the issue rather than filling it with an assumption. When to stop

Quick diagnosis and decision protocol
Check first
- List every writer or rightsholder role that actually applies.
- Make totals explicit and check they reconcile.
- Record names consistently with the identifiers used elsewhere.
Then decide
- Resolve disagreements before delivery.
- Keep a dated copy all parties can reference.
- Use the same canonical metadata in distribution forms.
