The starting point
Separate four checks: audio file, release information, documentation and delivery status. Completing one does not prove the others are complete.
A practice case
The distributor received the album, but one track is pending
Practice case: a submission confirmation appears and you assume everything is ready. One track has an incomplete field and a different status. Review each recording as well as the overall release.
Keep the submission reference, date and distributor feedback. If correction is needed, update confirmed information and record a new version of the release sheet. Do not send the same release through a different route simply because the first status is slow to update; establish what happened to that delivery first.
Choose a test from what you hear
| You notice | Try this |
|---|---|
| The file misses the delivery specification | Export again from the source and review it. |
| Information conflicts | Correct from the master release record. |
| One track has a different status | Check its details and distributor feedback. |
Bring it into your session
One pass, with a clear objective
0 / 4
Checks stay on this page and are not sent anywhere.
When to stop
You can distinguish approved, submitted and published material without relying on one screenshot.
Quick diagnosis and decision protocol
Check first
- Verify the exact master file and checksum when the release is critical.
- Compare metadata with the canonical record.
- Confirm rights and splits are resolved enough for your release context.
Then decide
- Upload once from the controlled source.
- Review the distributor preview before submission.
- Archive the submitted version and confirmation.
Measurement boundary
Distributor rules and platform policies change; verify current requirements at the point of delivery.
Watch out for this: A clean master cannot compensate for wrong ownership or metadata.
