Loudness bias challenge: choose before and after level matching
Two locally generated signals are identical except for gain. Choose first, reveal the level difference, then compare again matched.
Diagnosis
- Use the same playback device for A and B.
- Switch quickly.
- Make the first choice before revealing which is louder.
Decision
- Reveal the gain offset.
- Enable matched mode.
- Notice whether the preference survives.
Measurement boundary
This exercise demonstrates one comparison bias; it does not model a full mix or mastering decision.
Common failure: Listening very loud makes short comparisons less reliable and less safe.
