Range: 85–100 BPM
Reggaeton lives in a tight tempo pocket: most tracks land between 90 and 96 BPM, with 95 BPM as the classic sweet spot. The genre is built on the dembow riddim, so the tempo is dictated more by that groove than by the melody.

Production notes
The engine of reggaeton is the dembow pattern (a kick on the downbeats and a syncopated snare/clap). Keep the kick punchy and short so it doesn't clash with the 808/bass. At 90–96 BPM the groove feels danceable without rushing. Sidechain the bass to the kick lightly, and let the snare/clap carry the swing. Modern commercial reggaeton trends slightly slower (88–92) for a heavier, more vocal-forward feel.
Typical structure
Intro → pre-hook → chorus (the hook leads) → verse → chorus → bridge/break → chorus out. Reggaeton is hook-first: the chorus often appears within the first 20 seconds.
